Canal Boat Counselling

Tranquil Waters

There is increasing recognition of the benefits of nature on both our physical and mental health. Most of us notice an improvement in mood and a reduction in stress levels after spending time in nature. There is a growing movement in outdoor type therapies, such as walk-and-talk therapy or gardening therapy, which combine the benefits of regular counselling with the therapeutic effects of time spent in nature.

Moored on a peaceful section of riverbank in Horningsea, the boat is a safe, contained space, calm and welcoming, whatever the weather. She is surrounded by leafy trees and greenery in the summer, with a near water level view of the passing swans, ducks and moorhens. In the winter months she is kept warm by a woodburning stove.

There is parking a few minutes' walk from the mooring. I offer sessions from the boat one day a week and usually have a waiting list for counselling on the boat. Please get in touch if you would like to find out more.
